Carmelo Anthony is one of the most-recognized NBA athletes from the past two decades.
He was a staple for several teams throughout his career, a fan favorite in every definition of the word.
Anthony wasn’t just a fan favorite because of his personality and what he brought to a team, but his on-court play was also spectacular.
He did have a great NBA career, but he seemed to shine in international competition.
Anthony held several Olympic records before the 2024 games began, but even though many of them were dethroned, he still has a place in Team USA basketball history.
While he wasn’t able to contribute on the stat sheet, Anthony still helped Team USA this year.
As he mentioned on the 7 PM In Brooklyn podcast, “I felt like I was on the team again.”
Melo says he enjoyed having fun coaching Team USA’s players from the sidelines

As a former player, especially one who hasn’t been retired for long, Anthony received the respect of the athletes on Team USA.
Some players on the roster were teammates with Anthony, while others grew up watching him dominate in the NBA.
Anthony’s legacy will live on, both in the NBA and in the Olympics.
It will be interesting to see if he will pick up any coaching ventures in the future, either in the NBA or in the collegiate ranks.
Team USA trusted him to help lead them, which says a lot about his potential as a coach.
