With the start of the 2024-25 NBA season about two months away, the discussions and debates about the upcoming regular season are in full swing, as the schedule has dropped and the rosters around the league will more likely be what they are going to be for opening night in October.

Along with heated debates about which players will be in contention for regular-season awards and which teams will be in the mix to win an NBA title, player ratings are starting to drop for the popular annual 2K Sports franchise.

Ahead of the release of NBA 2K25, which comes out on Sept. 6, player ratings for incoming rookies who were taken in the first and second rounds of the 2024 NBA Draft have been revealed.

Although this was one of the weakest drafts in recent memory, with a lot of names coming into the league that many avid basketball fans just don’t know, one name that everyone does seem to know is Bronny James, son of Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James.

With much controversy surrounding Bronny James and whether he should even be in the NBA, every piece of news about him causes a stir, and his 2K25 overall player rating of 68, via Courtside Buzz, will be no different.

Even though Lakers brass are saying all the right things about Bronny James and have praised his work ethic and determination to get to the league, many fans aren’t happy about the franchise bringing him in, as they view it as an extreme case of nepotism.

Fortunately for Bronny James, the rookie will have a chance to change that narrative if he can play well when given minutes, but there’s no telling when he’ll play, as many anticipate him to be in the G League with the South Bay Lakers for the majority of the campaign.
