Over the past few years, tight end Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs has made a case to be considered the greatest to ever play his position in NFL history, competing with New England Patriots legend Rob Gronkowski for that distinction.
Kelce is coming off back-to-back Super Bowl titles and could be part of the first team in league history to win three straight, which would definitely improve his chances of passing the retired Gronkowski in the debate.
However, many still believe that one of Tom Brady’s favorite targets and teammates remains the greatest tight end ever, and it is a legitimate argument when the two players are compared in terms of their full careers.
Gronkowski was recently put on the spot by Funny Marco and asked if he believes Kelce is the better tight end.
“For longevity, yes,” Gronkowski said, via the NFL. “He’s still going. I’m not. I’m on the bench.”

Gronkowski also said he would choose Kelce over San Francisco 49ers star Geroge Kittle in a battle for the best current active tight end.
“I’m going with Kelce because he’s come through in the Super Bowl more than Kittle,” Gronkowski said.
With Kelce still going strong and playing with arguably the best quarterback in the league, Patrick Mahomes, the Chiefs All-Pro will continue to make these debates interesting in the years to come.
Right now, the only thing that separates Gronkowski from Kelce is a fourth Super Bowl title, because if they end up being tied in that legacy category, Kelce might ultimately get the nod in terms of public opinion.
