The San Francisco 49ers have not gotten out to the best start to the 2024 campaign, with the team dealing with a complex contract negotiation process with star wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk, an injury to superstar running back Christian McCaffrey, and a contract holdout with star left tackle Trent Williams.

The reigning NFC champions are just hoping to get everything back to normal before the start of the regular season on Sept. 9, when they host Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets on “Monday Night Football.”

However, things got a little worse for the 49ers when they saw left guard Aaron Banks go down with a broken finger, which required surgery, according to insider Matt Maiocco.

LG Aaron Banks sustained a broken little finger, had surgery and coach Kyle Shanahan said the 49ers hope to have him back for Week 1.

With Williams away from camp trying to secure a more lucrative long-term deal, an absence that could carry over into the regular season, the 49ers are not looking good on the offensive line right now.

With the offense being the team’s bread and butter of sorts, head coach Kyle Shanahan will hope for the unit to get straightened out before taking on a stout Jets defense in a few weeks.

The primary concern right now is the contract situations of Williams and Aiyuk and the status of McCaffrey, but this team with Super Bowl aspirations doesn’t want to dig the hole any deeper as it approaches what will be an important season.
