The excitement is palpable for the Chicago Bears who have some legitimate optimism about the team heading into the 2024 NFL season.
The Bears had the rights to the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft and selected USC star Caleb Williams to be their next franchise quarterback.
However, Chicago wasn’t done as they also selected Washington receiver Rome Odunze with the No. 9 overall pick, setting the foundation of their offense.
Williams was widely considered the best prospect in the draft, while Odunze was in the conversation for best wide receiver prospect next to Marvin Harrison Jr. and Malik Nabers.
Now, the duo will be tasked with leading a Bears team that is desperate for some on-field success after years of missing the postseason.
The two flashed what they could do together on the field when Williams hit Odunze with a deep pass downfield and had fans buzzing on social media via NFL.

During the play, Williams has his pocket collapse and is forced to improvise by scrambling out and launching a pass deep down the left sideline to Odunze who comes up with the grab.
That level of playmaking has been absent in Chicago, but Williams and Odunze gave fans something to cheer about during the preseason.
The young tandem has a real chance to grow and develop together during the 2024 season and should be dynamic for years to come.
It’s early in the process, but it looks like the Bears nailed their two selections in Williams and Odunze.
