The 2024 NFL season will be a big one for the New York Giants as they need to determine whether or not to continue with Daniel Jones as their starting quarterback.
Under head coach Brian Daboll, Jones had a resurgent year in 2022, but took a step back in 2023 as he resembled the player that struggled with accuracy and turnovers.
Jones has shown flashes of being a competent quarterback in the NFL, but unfortunately hasn’t been able to string together enough seasons to believe in him long term.
Complicating matters is that Jones is recovering from a torn ACL he suffered during the 2023 NFL season, but has managed to rehab enough to make it back on the field for preseason.
However, Jones’s first game back hasn’t gone according to plan as he’s struggled taking care of the football.
After a terrible play that resulted in a pick-six for the Houston Texans, social media went in on Jones via Barstool Sports.

The reactions are a perfect encapsulation of what it’s like to watch Jones as there’s no telling what he might do with the football on some plays.
In this case, Jones was backed up all the way in his end zone and decides to throw up a hapless pass to try and avoid the safety.
However, he would’ve been better off taking the sack and the loss of two points versus giving up a free six points to the Texans defense.
He is still likely shaking off some rust, but the early returns aren’t encouraging.
