The Minnesota Vikings just solved one of their biggest issues.
They clearly needed more depth at the cornerback position, so they went after one of the best still available.
According to a report by Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Vikings and veteran CB Stephon Gilmore agreed to a one-year deal.
The #Vikings are making a major free agent acquisition at a time when they rarely happen: Former Pro Bowl CB Stephon Gilmore is signing in Minnesota on a 1-year, $10M deal, source says.

The contract, which includes $7 million guaranteed, can reportedly be worth up to $10 million.
The former New England Patriots star will be reunited with Brian Flores, the Vikings’ current defensive coordinator.
Apparently, the Carolina Panthers also reached out and made him an offer, but the Vikings were more aggressive in their pursuit of Gilmore.
Gilmore will now play for his sixth NFL team after stints with the Buffalo Bills, Patriots, Panthers, Indianapolis Colts, and Dallas Cowboys-
He was instrumental to the Cowboys’ defense after they lost Trevon Diggs to a torn ACL, making 17 appearances and logging 68 tackles, 13 passes defended, two picks, and one forced fumble.
He’s not particularly young at almost 34 years old and has had some injury woes earlier in his career, but still, he’s definitely worth the risk.
He is a former Pro Bowler and will get to play for one of the best defensive minds in the game.
Also, with their current situation at cornerback, it’s not like the Vikings could afford to roll the dice and enter the season with their roster as currently constructed.
