The Kansas City Chiefs have one of the best — if not the best — offensive connections in the entire league.
Patrick Mahomes’ rapport with Travis Kelce is pretty much unmatched, up to the point where they even make spectacular plays when they don’t intend to.
That was the case again in their preseason contest vs. the Detroit Lions.
Mahomes threw a wild behind-the-back pass to Kelce on Saturday.
Then, when asked about the play, he claimed that he had done it out of spite for him for not running the route he was supposed to.
Notably, Kelce didn’t necessarily dismiss that notion.
The star tight end admitted that he couldn’t understand what Mahomes said at the line of scrimmage because of the ‘voice thing’ he has, and he proceeded to mock him (via NFL).

Kelce stated that he was still trying to decipher what Mahomes had mumbled, and then, before he knew it, he was already in mid-form to throw him the ball.
For years, fans on social media — and even some of his teammates — have made fun of Mahomes’ voice, with some stating that he sounds like Kermit the Frog.
Whatever the case, it’s more than evident that his voice hasn’t been much of an impediment to getting everybody on the same page when he checks the play at the line of scrimmage.
If anything, this was just an excuse to make a pass he had been working on at practice for quite a while now.
