Caleb Williams may have gone first overall in the 2024 NFL Draft, but the Arizona Cardinals may have gotten the best prospect in Marvin Harrison Jr.
Harrison is the son of NFL Hall of Famer Marvin Harrison and was widely expected to be the first receiver taken in the draft because of his size, skill, physicality and pedigree.
It was the perfect match of talent and need for Arizona as they sorely needed a new No. 1 receiving option for Kyler Murray who looked great in his return during the 2023 NFL season.
Although Harrison is a rookie, he should demand most of the targets in the passing game because he’s a mismatch for any defensive back in the open field.
Harrison’s time at Ohio State also surely helped his ability to improve in certain areas like leverage, route running and spacing.
The Buckeyes have become well-known for producing NFL wide receivers and when asked where he ranks among the school’s wideouts he named himself.
“I think I’m the best,” Harrison said.

Recent stars hailing from Ohio State include Chris Olave, Garrett Wilson and Jaxon Smith-Njigba, three young receivers who are in line for large 2024 NFL seasons.
However, Harrison has the potential to be better than all three of them because of the rare traits he possesses as well as his opportunity in the Cardinals’ offense.
Rookie receivers typically show flashes of stardom, and there should be little doubt that Harrison will be an impact player for years to come for Arizona.
