The San Francisco 49ers remain in a difficult situation with Brandon Aiyuk.
Despite Aiyuk being one of the best young wide receivers in the league and an impactful contributor to the organization, he has requested a trade from the team.
There are a few reasons for his discontent, but the main one seems to be the 49ers’ lack of signing him to a long-term deal.
With less than a month until the regular season starts, both sides are going to have to come to an agreement, one way or another.
Many analysts and former players have given their take on the situation, and Julian Edelman recently pitched in his thoughts in a recent conversation on FOX Sports: NFL.
“If I was Brandon Aiyuk I would be in San Francisco Week 1,” Edelman said.

As Edelman indicated, there aren’t many situations Aiyuk could be traded to that are better than the 49ers.
The 49ers have made it to the NFC Championship game for two straight years, and they nearly won the Super Bowl last year.
He might not be the fondest of the way they’ve handled his contract, but at the end of the day, this team knows how to win.
Aiyuk could certainly be a massive part of their hopeful playoff push over the next few months, but both sides need to come to a deal quickly.
The 49ers recently had a similar situation with Deebo Samuel, and while he was extremely frustrated with the team, a new contract did get signed.
