The Denver Broncos weren’t sure what they were going to do at the quarterback position heading into the 2024 season.

Sure, they took Bo Nix in the first round of this year’s draft, but he wasn’t expected to start in Year 1, at least, in the eyes of most media members.

Nix was seemingly slated to sit for a year, gaining valuable experience under the veterans ahead of him on the depth chart.

However, it seems that nobody told Nix about this plan, as he has been dominating the preseason.

As Ari Meirov recently called out on Twitter, Nix was 8/9 in his recent game against the Green Bay Packers, throwing for 80 yards and a touchdown.

#Broncos QB Bo Nix vs. the Packers:

• 8/9
• 80 passing yards
• 1 TD
• 0 INTs
• 140.7 passer rating

He also had a passer rating of 140.7, and, per Meirov, the Broncos have scored at least a field goal in six of seven drives with Nix under center during the preseason.

Nix is drawing attention from fans across the league, as showcased by how Twitter responded to his latest performance.

Give Bo Nix the MVP. I’ve seen enough

— Kade Bowlin (@bowlinkade2) August 19, 2024

While it might be too early to include Nix in MVP conversations, it is clear that the rookie is outperforming all expectations.

Nix might finally be what the Broncos have been looking for from their signal-caller, a sign of relief to fans.

They have been begging for a solid option under center since Peyton Manning left, and they just might have found their answer.

Of course, Nix still has a long way to go, and the Broncos haven’t seen what he can do in a real game yet.

But, with the way he has looked to this point, there is reason for optimism.
