The Pittsburgh Steelers have a lot of work to do ahead of the 2024 NFL Season.
They have yet to name a starting quarterback, and with just a few weeks to go until kickoff, time is ticking.
Unfortunately for the Steelers, this isn’t their only obstacle to overcome on the offensive side of the ball.
Nate Herbig recently suffered an injury that could end his season before it started, a devastating blow to their offensive line.
Herbig is a massive part of their line, and now, they’ll have to find a suitable replacement, one who can hopefully protect one of their newest signal-callers.
Thankfully for the Steelers, they had a rookie waiting in the wings, hoping to get a chance to prove himself.
As reporter Brooke Pryor highlighted on Twitter, Herbig’s injury “also means that Zach Frazier is all but guaranteed to start Week 1.”
Nate Herbig’s injury is a blow to the Steelers’ interior OL depth, but it also means that Zach Frazier is all but guaranteed to start week 1.

Pryor also quoted Justin Fields as saying, “Zack’s a hard worker. He’s humble, doesn’t say much, but boy, he works.”
This is a fantastic sign for the future of the Steelers, particularly this season.
Frazier has yet to play an NFL snap, but if these early comments are any indication, the Steelers should be just fine.
Hard work goes a long way in this league, and it typically goes especially well on the Steelers.
Mike Tomlin has been viewed as a no-nonsense coach throughout his career, and with a player like Frazier rising the ranks, albeit in suboptimal conditions, he could see the value in his work ethic and reward him handsomely.
