With just a couple of weeks away from the start of the NFL season, the Seattle Seahawks continue to assess their quarterback situation.
Mike Macdonald is more than likely to keep relying on Geno Smith, who seems to be their best option for the time being.
Sam Howell has looked better than he did with the Washington Commanders, but he might still be nothing more than a backup at this point.
As for PJ Walker, he has failed to establish himself in the league as more than a practice squad or third-string quarterback, and that’s not likely to change now.
With that in mind, the team has decided to give forme Casey Bauman a look, according to a report by Aaron Wilson.

Bauman spent four years with the Montana State Bobcats, barely getting any sort of playing time before transferring to DII’s Augustana University.
There, he threw for 29 touchdowns and just nine picks and logged almost 3,000 passing yards to go along with 300 rushing yards and five rushing scores.
Bauman went undrafted both in the NFL and CFL.
Then, the Los Angeles Chargers signed him but released him shortly after, so he didn’t even get to play in their preseason opener.
The fact that the Seahawks hosted him for a workout doesn’t necessarily mean they’re going to sign him, but it might speak volumes about their discontent with PJ Walker and their desire to get someone else to be their practice squad quarterback to start the season.
