Patrick Beverley has left the NBA – at least for now – and is heading to Israel for the next chapter in his career.
The 12-year veteran just landed in Israel and was welcomed as a hero by his new fanbase.
A video shared by NBACentral features Beverley being cheered for by young fans, who chanted, asked for pictures and looked elated to see him.

Many people expected Beverley to sign a veteran’s minimum contract with an NBA team but he surprised fans when he said he was accepting a two-year, $4 million deal with Hapoel Tel Aviv.
If he had remained in the NBA, Beverley would have earned a little more than $3 million on a vet’s minimum.
According to inside reports, both the Detroit Pistons and Houston Rockets made offers to Beverley but he decided to go with Israel instead.
Beverley is 36 years old so there is a chance that this is the last part of his career.
But there is also the possibility that he will come back to the NBA if a team offers him a deal he can’t say no to.
Beverley last played for the Milwaukee Bucks and averaged 6.2 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game on 41.7% from the field.
His season ended in controversy when he got into trouble for a bad interaction with courtside fans and a confrontation with a reporter in the locker room.
It seemed like his days playing for the Bucks were coming to an end when this Israeli deal came through.
Now Beverley is changing lanes and looking to find success in a new country.
This video shows that he will be warmly welcomed by fans, but what can he deliver to them?
