The Kansas City Chiefs have the best quarterback in the game.
Even with a subpar wide receivers corps, Patrick Mahomes has been able to work his magic and dominate en route to two consecutive Super Bowls.
However, he does have an elite pass-catcher out there.
Travis Kelce has established himself as the undisputed best tight end in the game, and his unpredictability makes him more difficult to cover.
At least, that’s how Derwin James feels.
In a recent appearance on the GOAT show, the Los Angeles Chargers star admitted that Kelce was his toughest matchup (via JPAFootball).

James stated that it doesn’t even seem like Kelce is playing football out there.
He jokingly said that it’s like he’s playing basketball because he’s making up everything on the go.
Kelce has made a name for himself for his ability to improvise and constantly find himself wide open.
As frustrating as that could be for a quarterback, Mahomes is very fast at going through his progressions, and the rapport they’ve developed has helped both of them make each other’s job significantly easier.
The reason why Kelce is always so open is because no one, not even the guy spending hours watching footage of previous games, tends to know where he’s going to be.
Add his steady hands and physicality to the mix, and you have a recipe for disaster.
Don’t be shocked if young tight ends start taking a page from his book, even if it makes offensive coordinators and coaches a little crazy.
