The Washington Commanders have a potential superstar at the quarterback position.
They took a young, dual-threat quarterback who can make big plays with his legs and sling the football down the field.
He’s charismatic and the kind of player who could make a highlight-reel kind of play on every snap.
However, he’s also reckless and doesn’t particularly shy away from contact.
If that sounds similar, that’s because it is.
Jayden Daniels might as well be their new version of Robert Griffin III, and while that sounds great, let’s not forget how that ended up for them.
That’s why the fans might be concerned when he recently admitted that he doesn’t even practice sliding (via Jayden Daniels MVP).
“Nah. I haven’t,” Daniels said when asked if he practices sliding.

Daniels drew plenty of criticism during his days in college for constantly putting his body in harm’s way.
He will put his body on the line to pick up an additional yard, and that’s not always positive for a quarterback.
Daniels can put defensive backs on skates with his quick lateral movements and his acceleration, but the Commanders — and the league as a whole — have plenty of experience dealing with this kind of player.
He needs to protect himself, and while that doesn’t mean changing his entire style of play, he needs to make better decisions and avoid unnecessary hits.
The Commanders are very excited about their new quarterback, and rightly so.
Now, the coaching staff needs to make sure to protect him from himself; they don’t want another RGIII on their hands.
