The Pittsburgh Steelers haven’t looked great in the preseason.
The preseason is meaningless until it isn’t.
The team has to assess some points of emphasis, and it’s more than evident that the offense was their No. 1 priority entering the season.
That’s why it’s been so discouraging to watch both Russell Wilson and Justin Fields struggle.
With that in mind, Stephen A. Smith predicted they would end up in last place in the AFC North Division.
Talking on ESPN’s First Take, he argued that he wasn’t so sure about whether Wilson should start over Fields (Via Andrew Fillipponi).

Granted, Wilson has dealt with an injured calf, but the issues from his days with the Denver Broncos remain the same.
Smith called him out for taking three sacks for holding onto the football for so long, which is why HC Sean Payton ‘couldn’t stand him and ran him out of Mile High City.’
While Smith might be overreacting to the preseason, he might be right about the team finishing in last place.
The AFC North Division is perhaps the toughest and most competitive in the league.
Both the Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals should be in place to make a run at the Super Bowl for as long as Lamar Jackson and Joe Burrow stay healthy, and the Cleveland Browns are coming off a solid season and should be back in the fold to get a postseason spot.
Mike Tomlin is a great coach, but the fact of the matter is that the Steelers may not have the personnel to turn this around.
