The Green Bay Packers decided to head into a new era ahead of the start of the 2023 NFL season, as they traded four-time NFL MVP and the face of their franchise, Aaron Rodgers, to the New York Jets in a move that was thought to result in a power shift in the league from the NFC to the AFC.
With the Packers moving on from the man who took over for legendary quarterback Brett Favre, many anticipated a rough outcome for the 2024 NFL season, as the team would be forced to turn to youngster Jordan Love to lead the way.
Few quarterbacks that are handed the keys to a franchise after a legend moves on are successful right away, but it appears that Love followed in Rodgers’ footsteps after he took over for Favre by leading the team to success right out of the gate.
Even though the first half of the 2023 campaign was forgettable for Love and company, the Packers turned it around and became one of the hottest teams in the league heading into the NFL playoffs, which then resulted in a massive upset over the Dallas Cowboys on the road in Arlington, Texas.
As a result of Love’s patience and play on the field during the 2023 season, the team rewarded him with a massive contract extension, as they believe he’s the future face of the franchise, which seems to be how Colin Cowherd of FOX Sports feels as well, picking him to be this year’s NFL MVP via The Herd with Colin Cowherd.
“I think Jordan Love wins MVP,” Cowherd said.

Although Love showed a lot of promise in the second half of last season, it was still a small sample size, as things could end up going sideways this year with teams knowing what to expect from the young quarterback.
However, Love seems up to the task, saying all the right things and having a talented offense at his disposal.
