For years, the New York Jets have had one of the best young wide receivers in the game.
Garrett Wilson looks like a superstar in the making, and now that he’ll finally get to play with a good quarterback, the sky seems to be the limit for him.
However, he’s no longer the only promising star in the Big Apple anymore.
With the New York Giants taking Malik Nabers with the No. 6 pick, the Jets will have an elite rival across the hall.
When asked about him, Jets HC Robert Saleh admitted that Nabers could’ve easily been the first wide receiver taken off the board (via Giants Videos).
“Elite competitor. Freaky. You could argue that he could’ve been the number 1 receiver [taken]…he’s a very special talent.”

He called him an elite competitor and a ‘freaky’ player, adding that he’s a very special talent.
The Giants haven’t had a star at wide receiver since Odell Beckham Jr. left town.
Unfortunately for Nabers, Daniel Jones may not be the right guy to make the most of his talents.
Whatever the case, the Giants are likely to move on from Jones after this season if he continues to struggle in the league after this much time.
That will allow Nabers to become one of the best wide receivers in the game in no time, following the steps of fellow LSU products like the aforementioned Beckham, Ja’Marr Chase, or Justin Jefferson.
As for the Jets, Wilson now has even more motivation to prove that he’s the alpha dog in town.
