Teams across the NFL are winding down training camp as they get set to head into their final preseason games and put the finishing touches on their rosters before Week 1.
One NFL team isn’t interested in winding down, as the New York Jets are instead starting to ramp up training camp practices, a decision that head coach Robert Saleh recently opened up about to the media.
During a recent press conference, Saleh said “The players know because you could also be on a team that’s not doing much and there can be frustration from players where they know they need more” before adding, “You’re not trying to drive them into the dirt…but at the same time, they’ve gotta get ready. I think the veterans who know what it used to feel like are really appreciating this because it’s reconnecting them to how they used to prepare, and the younger guys, they really don’t know the difference…they’re getting affirmations, if you will, every time they step on the field.”

It sounds like the players are fully on board, and the Jets haven’t been one of the teams with a slew of injuries coming out of camp, so it doesn’t hurt to ramp it up a bit leading into the season.
Expectations are extraordinarily high for New York this year with Aaron Rodgers back in the fold and after making some crafty offseason moves by bringing in Tyron Smith, Mike Williams, and Haason Reddick.
It’s a big year for Saleh too since he’ll have no excuses to be losing games now that he has his quarterback healthy.
