Aaron Rodgers is back under center for the New York Jets this year and has been an active participant throughout training camp with seemingly no limitations due to last year’s torn Achilles as he gets set for Week 1.
The team had a joint practice on Wednesday with the New York Giants, and Rodgers spoke before practice about his excitement to see rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers in person.
During the press conference, Rodgers admitted he was excited to see Nabers and said it would “be a good opportunity for him to go against some of our premier corners.”

Thinks it’ll be a fun challenge with the ones taking the majority of the reps.

Rodgers said joint practices are treated like preseason games and that it will be fun to mix it up with someone else, complimenting their defensive line before saying he can’t wait to see what Nabers is all about.
The Jets and Giants will meet in their preseason finale on Saturday for a rivalry game, and it’ll be the only time they get to see one another as they don’t face off this season.
Rodgers hasn’t appeared in preseason action yet, which is by design and not because of health, while Nabers caught four passes for 54 yards in his preseason debut as he provided a glimpse of how he could immediately be the centerpiece of the Giants offense.
With Saquon Barkley no longer in town, Nabers was drafted sixth overall to help give Daniel Jones all the help he can get in his effort to prove he can be the franchise quarterback as the team shifts away from the run-first style it implemented when Saquon was in town.
