After an incredible performance during the 2023 NFL season, which resulted in an AFC South title and a playoff win against the Cleveland Browns, the Houston Texans believe they are in a championship window, and they may be right.
With the Texans showing so much promise and talent on both sides of the football, they were intent on capitalizing on the opportunity to be one of the better teams in the NFL by upgrading the roster during this offseason.
The Texans were able to do just that, especially on offense, with the addition of wide receiver Stefon Diggs and running back Joe Mixon, along with pass rusher Danielle Hunter on the defensive side.
With Houston harboring Super Bowl aspirations heading into the 2024 NFL season, the last thing it wants to endure costly injuries before the regular season even starts.
However, that appears to have happened, with tight end Dalton Keene going down with a torn ACL, ending his campaign before it begins, according to Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report.

Keene may not be a game-changing player for the Texans offense like quarterback C.J. Stroud or Diggs, but he is another option they now won’t be able to turn to if the other tight ends get banged up during the regular season.
However, Keene has played in just seven NFL games since his debut in 2020, with one appearance for Houston last season, so his career unfortunately isn’t trending in the right direction.
