Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has raised the bar around the league from the minute he took over as their starter six years ago.
Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski recently had high praise for the Super Bowl champion and compared him to one of the NBA’s biggest stars, and he’s not the first to make the comparison.
After watching Mahomes complete a behind-the-back pass to Travis Kelce in a preseason game, Stefanski said that Mahomes is the Stephen Curry of the NFL.
“You know how Steph Curry changed basketball? I think Mahomes is changing football,” the coach said, via ESPN Bet and 92.3 The Fan.

Curry’s seemingly unlimited 3-point range and ability to shoot from impossible angles in the blink of an eye challenged the entire NBA to start rethinking how they value offense and how they want to build their team, as his Golden State Warriors have won four NBA championships and pushed the entire league to emulate their style of play.
Mahomes’ creativity and ability to make any throw from impossible angles has led to Curry comparisons for years, not to mention the fact they are about the same size.
The reigning Super Bowl MVP is looking to lead the Chiefs to a third consecutive championship and become the first team in NFL history to accomplish that three-peat, a feat Curry failed to accomplish with his Warriors by losing the 2019 NBA Finals to the Toronto Raptors.
