Social media can be a powerful tool.
It can connect long-lost relatives and rekindle old friendships, but for sports fans, it’s a way for them to get closer to their favorite athletes.
Social media is a platform that has bridged the gap between fans and their heroes, allowing them to interact in ways that were not possible 20 years ago.
While this can be used for good, some people abuse this and try to hide behind their keyboards, saying things they would never say in person.
Athletes can also use social media to get messages out there, perhaps even to the teams they play for.
Steph Curry recently updated his Instagram bio in which he removed his affiliation with the Warriors, as NBA Central pointed out on Twitter, which could be concerning for Golden State Warriors fans.
In his updated bio, Steph Curry switched the phrase “Guard for the @Warriors” to “Olympic Gold Medalist.”

Curry’s bio used to call out the fact that he was a member of the Warriors, but now, it says “Olympic Gold Medalist” in its place.
This could be nothing, as Curry and his teammates are excited about their gold medal from this year’s international competition.
However, he could also be sending a message to the Warriors’ front office, that he might not be the happiest with some of their decisions lately.
They let Klay Thompson leave earlier in the offseason, and there’s no telling what other moves they’ll make ahead of the season.
The Warriors were one of the most dominant teams in the NBA for the better part of a decade but with recent changes, that may not be the case anymore.
