The Cleveland Browns are dealing with a lingering issue that may complicate the NFL future of one of their best players.
Pro Bowl cornerback Denzel Ward was recently diagnosed with his fifth known concussion since his rookie year (2018), according to the team.
Anytime an NFL player suffers five concussions in a span of six years, that player might have to take a step back and think about his long-term health.
BREAKING: #Browns star CB Denzel Ward has a concussion again, it’s his 5th known concussion since 2018, per the team.
It’s very sad to see that such a great player may have to consider retirement because he has suffered so much head trauma.

Ward is one of the best cornerbacks in all of football.
The three-time Pro-Bowler and former All-American at Ohio State has recorded 10+ pass deflections and multiple interceptions every year of his career.
Along with All-Pro edge-rusher Myles Garrett and Pro Bowl linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, Ward is a clear franchise cornerstone piece of this Jim Schwartz defense in Cleveland.
If Ward wants to continue playing, it is obviously his call.
But with the number of concussions that he has suffered and at just 27 years of age, he may want to consider thinking about the long-term effects of his head injuries.
As NFL fans have seen over the years with star players such as former Colts star quarterback Andrew Luck and former Packers Pro Bowl wide receiver Sterling Sharpe, sometimes injuries are too significant to overcome.
For Ward, the most important thing is his health moving forward, and with this latest concussion, he is traveling down a very dangerous slope if he continues to keep playing.
