The New York Giants and New York Jets recently had a joint practice, where players from both teams had an opportunity to compete with outside competition.
Mixed feelings were floating around going into this practice, especially since the Jets and the Giants have vastly different expectations heading into the 2024 season.
Many people believe the Jets are going to be one of the top teams in the AFC, while the Giants are still in a rebuilding process.
Regardless of where the teams will finish in 2024, getting an opportunity to see competition from another team is still beneficial.
The Jets, reportedly, played a lot better than the Giants in this practice, and it appears that Daniel Jones didn’t have his best day.
Sauce Gardner was asked about Jones in a post-practice interview, and it seemed like he had a difficult time trying to find something nice to say.
He later clarified this on Twitter, highlighting the fact that he said Jones was a good quarterback.
I said “he’s a good quarterback”, I just got a lil distracted with something mid interview chilllllllll

Gardner also indicated that something distracted him during the interview, which is why his response seemed odd.
This might be a way for Gardner to cover his tracks, but the truth seems to be something of a gray area at the moment.
Jones hasn’t looked his best in the preseason thus far, and with Gardner’s comments in mind, it’s starting to make sense why the Giants were looking for a quarterback in the offseason and in the draft.
It will be interesting to see where both of these teams finish the season, especially since they share a home stadium.
