There was a time when Jordan Poole was, statistically, the worst player in the NBA.
Now, he’s making dozens of millions and, while the results weren’t good at all, he has a team of his own.
Even if he were still the worst player in the league, being the worst player in the NBA means you’re better than 90% of hoopers all over the world.
He’s set for life, and he’s already an NBA champion.
That’s why, like all NBA players — and especially those who signed huge deals — he’s an authorized voice to talk about how to make it to the league.
That’s exactly what he did with a young fan who approached him to have a picture with him.
Poole let him know that if he spent more time in the gym than anybody else and managed to get through the never-ending grind that it takes to become an NBA player, it would always be worth it (via Landon Bell & ClutchPoints).
“Just keep grinding… Keep going bro. It’ll be tough but it’s always worth it. So, if you’re in the gym more than anybody else, you’ll have a good shot.”

He should know.
Poole went through a lot to become the player he is today.
He had to humble himself, get to work in the G-League, and spend countless hours working on his craft to work his way up the Golden State Warriors’ rotation.
He was later a key contributor to an NBA championship team and earned a huge contract extension.
Things didn’t work out for him in the Bay area in the end, but he’s still got his prime years ahead of him, and he knows he’ll always have a chance to be better if he keeps working.
