New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh has made a decision on what he will do about his starters heading into Gang Green’s final preseason game.
In a recent press conference, Saleh told the New York media that almost all of their starters will not be suiting up against the New York Giants this weekend.
“It’s gonna be consistent with what we’ve done the first two games,” Saleh said.

This is significant because that means that starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers will not play this preseason.
Other than last preseason when he played a drive or two against the Giants, Rodgers has not played in the preseason since 2018.
Now, he has won multiple MVPs and has had plenty of offensive success without playing in the preseason.
With the Jets getting plenty of work in joint practices with the Washington Commanders, Carolina Panthers, and now the Giants, Rodgers and the starters have gotten all the preseason experience that they’ve needed to get.
Backup quarterbacks Adrian Martinez and Andrew Peasley will take on the snaps against the Giants this weekend to wrap up the preseason.
With very high expectations entering the 2024 season, Saleh is deciding not to roll the dice by sitting his best players.
Why risk putting them out there in a near-meaningless game?
If that is his thought process, it is a wise call, especially if the team has performed well in practice as of late.
Look for Gang Green’s regular-season roster to be finalized in the week to come after the game.
