The Green Bay Packers just paid their quarterback, so they want to make sure he’s healthy for when it actually counts.

That’s why we may not get to see him play at all in the preseason finale vs. the Baltimore Ravens.

Love got off to a slow start in the offseason, as he skipped the start of training camp while pressuring the Packers to give him a new contract.

When asked whether he’d get to play on Saturday, HC Matt LaFleur was quite tight-lipped.

As reported by Ryan Wood on Twitter, LaFleur just said that ‘we’ll see’ if Love plays or not, and he didn’t elaborate when asked whether something needed to happen for him to play or not.

Matt LaFleur asked if Jordan Love will play Saturday in preseason finale: “We’ll see.”

Asked if something needs to happen today, one way or another, to determine that: “We’ll see.”

So, we’ll see.

The Packers and Ravens both have every reason to be overly cautious about playing their starters in this somewhat meaningless game.

We’re just over two weeks away from the start of the regular season, not to mention the fact that the Packers will have to hit the road to play overseas in their season opener in Brazil vs. the Philadelphia Eagles.

That means that even if Love does play in the preseason finale, he might not be out there for more than a drive or two.

Love excelled in his first season as a starter, and expectations are higher this time around.

The Packers are a young and very talented team that proved that they can compete like a legitimate Super Bowl contender.
