For NFL fans, it can be really neat to see the respect between a great player and an opposing head coach.
This is the case with Houston Texans Pro Bowl quarterback C.J. Stroud and Los Angeles Rams Super Bowl-winning head coach Sean McVay.
Stroud recently talked about the respect that he has for McVay in front of the Houston media as the Texans and Rams face off for joint practices.
“I’m a super fan of his…It’s an honor just to know that he knows me,” Stroud said of McVay.

Both individuals are seemingly at the top of their respective fields.
Stroud is coming off of one of the greatest rookie seasons in NFL history.
The 2023 Offensive Rookie of the Year set multiple NFL and Houston franchise records, including most passing yards (4,108), touchdown passes (23), and completions (319) for any quarterback in Texans’ history.
His average of 273.9 yards passing per game led the league last year as he helped guide the Texans to an AFC South title.
Entering 2024, he has Houston in a great position to contend in the AFC.
For McVay, the 38-year-old is one of the best head coaches in the league.
He is the youngest head coach in NFL history to win a Super Bowl (36; 2021 with Rams).
The former NFL Coach of the Year has guided the Rams to 10+ wins in five of his seven seasons.
L.A. has won the NFC West three times under McVay and has made multiple Super Bowl appearances, along with that aforementioned Super Bowl win in 2021.
