Seeing a great young quarterback cross paths with a great veteran quarterback is a neat treat for any true fans of the NFL.
The Houston Texans and Los Angeles Rams are participating in joint practices this week, which means that Pro Bowl quarterback C.J. Stroud is getting to meet up with Super Bowl-winning quarterback Matthew Stafford.
Stroud chatted about his thoughts on Stafford in front of the Houston media after practice recently.
“He’s tough as nails…I’ve been a fan of Matt Stafford for a long time…I asked him a lot of questions…One of my favorite quarterbacks of all time,” Stroud said of Stafford.

Seeing one of the game’s young stars gush over one of his favorite players is a really cool sight for those who love the sport.
Matthew Stafford is one of the most underrated NFL players of the last 15+ years.
The two-time Pro-Bowler and former Comeback Player of the Year has over 56,000 career passing yards and over 350 career touchdown passes.
He stuck it out in Detroit for such a long time despite not having a ton of winning success.
When he joined the Rams in 2021, he immediately hit the ground running and eventually won a Super Bowl.
In doing so, he ended up inspiring great players such as Stroud.
Stroud, who set many Houston franchise records as a rookie, took the Texans to the playoffs after winning the AFC South in 2023.
Now, like Matthew Stafford, he has his team well-positioned to contend for a Super Bowl entering the 2024 season.
