No player in the NBA has had more of a meteoric rise to superstar over the past two seasons than guard Anthony Edwards of the Minnesota Timberwolves, as he’s quickly gone from one of the league’s most promising young players to the face of the franchise that he plays for which is one of the best in the Western Conference right now.
The Timberwolves have been Karl-Anthony Towns’ team for the past half-decade or so, but Edwards changed that this past season by elevating his game and leading the team to the second seed in the West while helping the franchise pave its way to the Western Conference Finals.
Even though the team flamed out against the Dallas Mavericks, Minnesota is still a team on the rise, with Edwards turning into one of the NBA’s most exciting players and earning a spot on a star-studded Team USA.
Ultimately, Edwards helped the United States win the gold medal and is now going viral for his free-styling skills, rapping about winning gold in Paris, France via Overtime.

With LeBron James, Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant potentially playing for Team USA for the last time in the Olympics, this might have been a passing-the-torch moment to Edwards, who many believe could be the best team in the NBA in a few years.
Edwards has become one of the most intriguing and entertaining professional athletes in the United States and has actually received comparisons to Michael Jordan, which hasn’t happened since Kobe Bryant led the way for the Los Angeles Lakers.
