The Cincinnati Bengals weren’t much of a threat last season.
That’s because Joe Burrow was banged up to start the year.
Then, when he got going and they looked like a Super Bowl contender again, he suffered a season-ending wrist injury.
That’s how good a player he is.
Having him out there and ready to play makes the team a legitimate threat to win the whole thing.
That’s why the rest of the league should take notice of Kirk Herbstreit’s words.
Talking on the Pat McAfee Show, the former college football player claimed that Burrow was looking very, very good; almost ‘scary good.’

He wants to work and he loves the grind”@KirkHerbstreit #PMSLive pic.twitter.com/VACtOIBZkT

He pointed out the fact that this will pretty much be the first time he has had a training camp and a preseason, as he was often hurt, recovering, or had COVID before.
That has often led to some slow starts, which has been perhaps the only issue with Burrow in his career.
Now, he’s going to enter the season with a full training camp under his legs, and Herbstreit claimed that he’s not going through the motions and trying to avoid injury; he’s actually grinding.
Burrow has proven that, when healthy, he’s perhaps the second-best quarterback in the game behind only Patrick Mahomes, and the Bengals have been a tough opponent for the Kansas City Chiefs over the years.
So, even if Ja’Marr Chase isn’t there, the Bengals will most definitely be a big threat to win it all if Burrow is out there and healthy.
