DeMarcus Cousins Has Honest Admission About Time With Kings

At one point in time during his NBA career, DeMarcus Cousins was considered to be one of the best big men in the game and perhaps the cream of the crop in his prime, as he seemed impossible to stop with a unique skill set while playing for the lowly Sacramento Kings.

Despite having an elite big man in the paint who could get it done inside and outside, the Kings never were able to capitalize and put the right talent around Cousins to become a consistent force to be reckoned with in the Western Conference like the team was with Chris Webber and Mike Bibby leading the charge.

After years of disappointing outcomes, while playing for the Kings, Cousins finally got his chance to shine and potentially turn a team into a perennial title contender by joining forces with fellow superstar Anthony Davis on the New Orleans Pelicans.

The dynamic duo was a scary sight for opponents as no team really knew how to defend the Pelicans with these two versatile big men leading the way in the Big Easy, but unfortunately, Cousins went down with an injury that derailed the dream of New Orleans winning it all and keeping this duo together.

Cousins’ career in the league was never the same after that as he dealt with injury after injury and ultimately had to go overseas to get work, and now he has reflected on his time in Sacramento on The Draymond Green Show.

“It was tough, and it was confusing,” Cousins said.

Clearly, Cousins doesn’t think fondly about his time with the Kings, and it is hard to blame him because the franchise was so dysfunctional and has only started to turn things around with De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis leading the way in Sacramento.

The real tragedy is that Cousins could’ve been an all-time great had he been in the right place at the right time while avoiding injuries, as he was as talented as they come in the frontcourt in the NBA.
