It has been a banner offseason for Boston Celtics superstar Jayson Tatum, as he finally won his first NBA Championship, his second Olympic gold medal for Team USA, and signed the biggest contract in NBA history when his Celtics gave him a $315 million deal.
Now that he finally had some time to breathe, Tatum decided to enjoy his downtime and celebrate with a little ink in the form of a new tattoo.
Tatum shared a photo of his new tattoo on his Snapchat that showed him holding up the 2023 All-Star Game MVP trophy that he won, which was named after the late great Kobe Bryant.

Just underneath the tattoo of him holding the trophy is another tattoo of the number “24” inscribed with a pair of snakes, clearly an ode to Bryant as well.
Tatum hasn’t been shy about his fondness for Kobe in years past after subtly trying to recreate Kobe’s iconic NBA Championship trophy photo and sharing texts he sent to the late Bryant on social media a few years ago before a big playoff game.
Fans will of course criticise him for this move and for his repeated displays of love for Kobe, but as long as the tattoo makes him happy, that’s all that matters.
Many players in the NBA have questionable tattoos but this one clearly has a deep meaning to Tatum, and after the summer he has had, he has earned the right to tattoo whatever he wants on himself.
