The Dallas Cowboys simply cannot catch a break.
Well, to be fair, their fans can’t catch a break, as their decision-makers seem unmoved by the imminent chaos heading their way.
That’s what we could tell from Jerry Jones’ words about DaRon Bland’s injury.
As quoted by Jon Machota of The Athletic, the business mogul was unfazed by the news, stating that Bland would be back for the most important stretch of the season, and adding that their secondary defense was deep and one of their strengths.
“We’re in great shape at corner because of our young guys coming in. That’s one of the strengths of our whole team. Our secondary is outstanding,” Jones said.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on @1053thefan on DaRon Bland’s foot injury: “The good news is he’ll be here for the vital games at the end. He’ll be out about 4-5 weeks to start the season.”

He believes the young guys can step in and hold down the fort while Bland is out.
The Cowboys’ season opener with the Cleveland Browns is just two weeks away.
Bland is coming off an All-Pro campaign, leading the league in interceptions (nine) while also setting a record for the most pick-sixes (five).
He’ll be on the shelf for six to eight weeks after sustaining a stress fracture in his foot.
The team announced that Bland was experiencing foot discomfort, and he’s finally gone under the knife to repair the issue.
Bland took a huge leap last season.
A fifth-round pick in 2022, he had to step in when the team lost two-time Pro Bowl CB Trevon Diggs to a torn ACL early in the season.
Now, it’ll be up to Caelen Carson, another fifth-round pick, to try and find that same kind of production.
The season hasn’t even started, but it already seems like the Cowboys will be walking an uphill battle in 2024.
