The Cleveland Browns have high hopes for the upcoming season.
That’s why it wasn’t so ideal to see that Deshaun Watson didn’t suit up at all in the preseason.
The former Houston Texans star was reportedly on pace to start in the preseason finale, but he was eventually scratched from the game.
When asked about that, HC Kevin Stefanski admitted that he thought it would be better for the team to keep him out because of all of the injuries to the offensive line (via Camryn Justice).
#Browns Kevin Stefanski said Deshaun Watson wanted to play but taking offensive line injuries and other guys out for the game, he didnt feel like it was best to play him tonight. Said he’ll be “ready to roll Week 1.”

Stefanski also reaffirmed that Watson would be ready to roll for the season opener vs. the Dallas Cowboys.
Watson missed most of last season after suffering a shoulder injury.
He has missed plenty of time since arriving in Cleveland three years ago, and the fans have started losing their patience with him.
The Browns also have Jameis Winston, Tyler Huntley, and Dorian Thompson-Robinson in their quarterback’s room, but one of Huntley or Thompson-Robinson is likely to be traded or cut at some point.
Watson was once considered to be one of the best quarterbacks in the league, but those days are far behind him.
The Browns have several playmakers on the offensive side of the field, and they hope that Ken Dorsey will be able to work his magic with his new quarterback.
But if he continues to struggle or if he fails to stay healthy, it wouldn’t be a huge surprise to see the team exploring all of their options at quarterback for next season.
