The Cincinnati Bengals are expected to be in the inner circle of Super Bowl contention during the 2024 NFL season as they’ve got a healthy Joe Burrow back in the mix.
Burrow missed the second half of the 2023 NFL season due to a wrist injury, but is back and looks ready to go for a big regular season and potential playoff run.
The offense with Burrow is night and day compared to when the backups are running the show and Cincinnati should be able to put up points in a hurry.
However, one looming question before the season starts is the status of Ja’Marr Chase’s contract.
Chase is eligible for an extension but the two sides have yet to make any sort of progress towards an agreement.
Although Chase has been holding in during training camp and practices, he decided to participate in a recent practice despite not having a new deal in place via Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
“Photographic proof of Ja’Marr Chase’s return to practice today,” Pelissero reported.

This is noteworthy to see Chase back on the field with his teammates as it could mean that he’s willing to play the regular season after all.
There was previous reporting that Chase wouldn’t suit up for Cincinnati until he got a new deal, but it appears that he’s softened his stance.
At this point, it’s only a matter of when the two sides can get a deal done as Chase is far too important to the team to let him go unpaid.
