The Dallas Mavericks are coming off a strong 2023-24 NBA season where they turned things around after the trade deadline and made a run at the 2024 NBA Finals.
The Mavericks wound up losing to the Boston Celtics, but the silver lining is the team now knows it has what it takes to compete with the best teams in the league.
Leading the way for Dallas was Luka Doncic who showed his postseason elevation is real.
Doncic looked like a man on a mission during the 2024 NBA Playoffs and nearly willed the Mavericks to their first title in over a decade but didn’t have enough help against a loaded Boston squad.
This offseason, Doncic also spent some time playing for the Slovenian national team though now is getting a much-deserved break.
Doncic did recently appear in a celebrity game though fans had a lot to say about his current physique via Barstool Sports.

The fans didn’t hold back on Doncic looking a little bigger on the court, though this is typically how the superstar is at this time of the year.
For years, analysts have been clamoring for Doncic to get in better shape so he can better handle the rigors of a full 82-game season and the playoffs, and for a little bit it looked like he had done just that.
However, he currently has some ways to go to get back into game shape as the 2024-25 NBA season will be here before the league knows it.
