Unlike several other teams in the NFL, the Dallas Cowboys didn’t have to worry about a quarterback competition during the preseason.
While Dak Prescott’s future with the team is unknown past the 2024 season, he is slated to play the entire year for the Cowboys.
With that in mind, the Cowboys have been using the preseason to try and establish their backups on the depth chart, should something happen to Prescott.
Trey Lance, for instance, has gotten a lot of work during their preseason games and just played for their entire matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers.
He finished the game with 323 passing yards, but only threw one touchdown and added five interceptions.
Many people thought Dallas would be a great location for Lance to learn, grow, and develop, but that hasn’t been the case.
After seeing Lance’s performance in that game, and studying his complete body of work, Carrington Harrison made a bold claim on Mad Dog Sports Radio.
Lance is “one of the biggest draft busts that we have ever seen,” Harrison said.
Trey Lance had a brutal preseason finale throwing 5 interceptions.@cdotharrison thinks we have seen enough. Trey Lance is a bust!

Lance, of course, went No. 3 overall in the 2021 NFL Draft to the San Francisco 49ers.
The 49ers believed he could be their future at the position, but for one reason or another, it didn’t work out for the two sides.
Lance did suffer a major injury in the first year he tried to be the starter, which paved the way for Brock Purdy’s opportunity.
Now that he has had some time in a new system, it seems that Lance might not be cut out for this league after all.
