The Kansas City Chiefs have already settled in at quarterback with Patrick Mahomes.

While that was never in doubt, the Chiefs did need to trim their roster ahead of the final roster cuts.

With that in mind, they parted ways with Ian Book, according to Tom Pelissero.

That means that the Chiefs will roll with Mahomes, Carson Wentz, and Chris Oladokun as their three quarterbacks.

However, there’s still a chance they bring Book back to their practice squad.

The 26-year-old was drafted out of Notre Dame by the New Orleans Saints.

He was a fourth-round pick back in 2021 and signed a four-year rookie contract worth roughly over $4.1 million, including a $675K signing bonus.

Unfortunately for him, his tenure in the Big Easy was short-lived, as the Saints waived him in 2022.

He was later claimed by the Philadelphia Eagles, and they waived him earlier in the offseason.

Book also had brief tenures with the New England Patriots and worked out for the San Francisco 49ers and Buffalo Bills before getting a futures contract from the Chiefs.

Thus far, he’s logged one appearance in the regular season, starting a game for the Saints in 2021 and completing 12 of 20 passes for 135 yards, no touchdowns, and two interceptions, also rushing three times for six yards.
