Cooper Flagg hasn’t played a single minute of NBA basketball, yet he’s already secured his future.
The projected No. 1 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft got his new deal, making the most of the fact that the NCAA is finally allowing players to make money off their game.
According to a report by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the five-star Duke recruit has signed a very lucrative contract with New Balance.

Needless to say, this is a huge blow to sneaker giants like Nike or Adidas.
Flagg is expected to be a generational player, and he could give New Balance unmatched exposure in the coming years.
He’s been the most viral high school player in the game for years now, and he proved to be ready to hold his own vs. professionals in the scrimmages with Team USA this summer.
He can play both forward spots, knock down shots from all three levels, create for others, put the ball on the floor and be efficient both in the half-court and in transition, and even swat some shots.
Flagg is 6-foot-9 and still growing, and he plays hard on both ends of the floor.
He knows how to use his wingspan to stay in front of his opponent, and he’s got top-notch basketball instincts as well.
Whoever gets him in the NBA Draft will get as close to a can’t-miss kind of talent as it gets, which is why it was such a smart move by New Balance to get him locked in before anybody else.
