The National Football League has become a quarterback’s league now more than ever.

As such, having an elite quarterback all but guarantees a chance to, at the very least, compete.

With that in mind, and with the season just around the corner, former NFL QB Dan Orlovsky took to ESPN’s First Take to share his list of the only nine elite quarterbacks in today’s league (in no particular order).

Despite his youth and lack of experience, Orlovksy is already sold on Houston Texans star C.J. Stroud and believes he’s one of the stars of the future.

A former Detroit Lion himself, he also gives Matthew Stafford the nod, which is more than deserving given his talent, not to mention that he’s one of the few Super Bowl champions on that list.

Then, he got another former Super Bowl champion in Aaron Rodgers, perhaps the most accurate passer the game of football has ever seen.

Orvlosky later added Brock Purdy, who some still believe is just a byproduct of Kyle Shanahan’s system and the San Francisco 49ers’ roster.

Unsurprisingly, he also chose Patrick Mahomes, the absolute alpha dog in the league who’s won three of the past five Super Bowls.

Then, he chose Lamar Jackson, who’s already won two MVPs but hasn’t been able to find that same success in the playoffs.

Justin Herbert got the nod then out of sheer talent, as he’s only been to the playoffs once and hasn’t won a single playoff game yet.

Then, he chose Joe Burrow, who most analysts believe to be a close second to Mahomes in the quarterback rankings right now.

And last, but not least, he gave Josh Allen the nod, a guy who’s posted video game-like numbers year after year but who always stumbles upon the Kansas City Chiefs in the playoffs.
