After superstar quarterback Tom Brady decided to call it a career after more than two decades in the NFL, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were put in a tough position, with no telling if the team would start the rebuilding process or try to keep it going with another veteran quarterback.

Fortunately for Tampa Bay, the team took a chance on veteran journeyman Baker Mayfield, which turned out to be the right move as he resurrected his career with the Buccaneers while keeping the franchise competitive and eager to build upon their success.

The Buccaneers were able to win the NFC South division title last season and punch their ticket to the NFL playoffs, where they took down the Philadelphia Eagles with ease and showed the rest of the league that they might be a force to be reckoned with in 2024.

Although Tampa Bay is still viewed as a middle-of-the-pack team in the NFC at best, the Buccaneers still have the opportunity to win another division title and make it to the postseason during the upcoming season, which is motivation enough to make sure they are making the right moves ahead of Week 1.

Unfortunately for cornerback Keenan Isaac, the team’s plans moving forward don’t involve him despite an impressive showing in the preseason, with Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team reporting the team has parted ways with the 24-year-old corner.

Sometimes, it doesn’t matter how well a player plays during the NFL preseason, as a team needs to make moves to finalize its roster and emphasize areas of need, which clearly wasn’t at the cornerback position.

It will be interesting to see how the Buccaneers do in 2024, as it seems like they’ve embraced the underdog role and anticipate another solid season.
