It’s been a tough summer for the Carolina Panthers’ rookies, at least health-wise.

Rookie WR Xavier Legette has struggled with several ailments throughout the course of the offseason, but he seems back to full strength and ready to take the field for Week One.

That’s not going to be the case with fellow rookie RB Jonathon Brooks.

According to a report by Adam Schefter of ESPN, Brooks will begin the season on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP)/Non-Football Injury list, meaning he’ll be ineligible to be active for the first four games of the campaign.

First-year head coach Dave Canales had stated that they hoped to have him in the lineup at some point in the first month of the regular season, but it now seems like it’ll be a little longer before we see him take the field.

Brooks tore his ACL during his final season with the Texas Longhorns, but that didn’t stop the Panthers from taking him in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft.

He’s a talented back who could have a bright future in the league because of his speed and ability to make defenders miss, provided he manages to stay healthy.

Hopefully, the star rookie will be able to get on the field as soon as he’s eligible to be active.
