The Kansas City Chiefs are the team to beat right now, not only in the AFC but in the entire league.
They’ve won two consecutive Super Bowls.
They also won when their offense was at their worst, so now that they’ve given Patrick Mahomes some weapons, the expectation is that they’re going to be even better.
However, no team has ever won three Super Bowls in a row, and that speaks volumes about how difficult it is to pull off.
Someone has to get them eventually.
With that in mind, ESPN analyst Mike Greenberg chose his beloved New York Jets to be the ones to finally put an end to their supremacy (via Get Up).

While he acknowledged that he might be biased because he’s a Jets fan, he also made an actual case for Robert Saleh’s team.
For starters, they have a championship-caliber defense, which is also the best in the AFC outside of, maybe, the Cleveland Browns.
On top of that, they have the most proven quarterback in the AFC besides Mahomes in Aaron Rodgers.
On paper, there’s no reason to believe the Jets can’t be a strong Super Bowl contender; they have everything they need.
Even so, at this point, people will just have to see it to believe it, as something always seems to happen with this team that prevents them from competing at the highest level.
No one wins on paper; it’s time they do it on the field.
