After a lengthy holdout process that came dangerously close to the start of the 2024 NFL season, the Dallas Cowboys were able to take care of superstar wide receiver CeeDee Lamb with the lucrative long-term contract extension that he desired.
The Cowboys’ brass was not only able to eliminate a distraction with this contract situation taken care of, but it also was able to avoid backlash from their avid fanbase, which was ready to give the front office a lot of grief if they damaged the relationship with one of the best wide receivers in the NFL.
With fans breathing a sigh of relief as owner Jerry Jones was able to stop the bleeding with a new deal, Lamb seems to be on cloud nine now that his future has been secured with a deal reportedly worth $136 million over four years.
The Cowboys posted a video on X showing Lamb promising big things with the 2024 NFL season right around the corner.
“I’m happy to be back,” Lamb said. “I can’t wait to see y’all at home, away, wherever. I know we travel well. Go nuts every game! Plenty of touchdowns and a lot more of that coming.”

Even though quarterback Dak Prescott’s contract situation remains uncertain, as he may have to play the season without a new deal of his own, the Cowboys did check one of the boxes to help the storied franchise moving forward.
It’ll be interesting to see if Lamb will continue to be highly productive for the Cowboys now that he’s one of the highest-paid wideouts in the game.
