It’s been 13 years since Chad Johnson last made an appearance in an NFL game.

It’s been 7 years since he last played professional football after a brief stint with Mexico’s Fundidores de Monterrey.

Nonetheless, the 46-year-old former wide receiver is still confident in his physical skills and athleticism.

That’s why he continues to plead for a job in the league.

With that in mind, he reached out to Houston Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans to wonder if he could workout for his team (via Houston Stressans).

In the latest edition of his show with Shannon Sharpe, they had Coach Ryans in attendance to discuss the current state of his team.

And while they seem to be all set at wide receiver, it seems like ‘Ochocinco’ still likes his chances.

Truth be told, he’s in much better shape than the average 46-year-old, although it’s still a long shot to believe that the former All-Pro wideout could just make an NFL roster.

Perhaps he could give a team a solid game, but there’s just no way he could withstand a full season after being away from the game for such a long time.

What we can be sure of is that his workout with the Texans would be a must-watch, PPV television.

The Texans have a bright future ahead of them with C.J. Stroud at the helm, so as much as we would definitely love to see Chad Johnson running free downfield again, he might want to try his luck with the New England Patriots or another WR-needy team.
