The Los Angeles Rams recently made a fascinating trade by sending starting linebacker Ernest Jones to the Tennessee Titans.
It is fascinating because Jones is coming off of back-to-back seasons with 100+ tackles, including a 145-tackle season in 2023.
Rams head coach Sean McVay recently was asked about the trade by a reporter, and his answer came with some fire.
“It’s best for the football team,” McVay exclaimed.

The reason this trade is so intriguing is because there were possible rumors that Jones wanted out of Los Angeles.
Of course, the former Super Bowl champion later refuted those reports on X.
However, now that he is a Titan, the situation is even more interesting.
With McVay’s frustration spilling into his appearances with the media, there are also rumors about a potential leak within the organization.
Right now, the Super Bowl-winning head coach cannot worry about that.
The NFL regular season is on the doorstep of starting as the Rams’ 53-man roster was recently finalized.
McVay is going to have to find a way to contend for a Super Bowl after losing key defensive pieces such as Jones, former safety Jordan Fuller, and most notably, legendary defensive tackle Aaron Donald.
This Rams team is coming off of 10-win season and yet another playoff appearance under the leadership of McVay.
Current linebackers Omar Speights, Christian Rozeboom, and Byron Young will look to guide the inside linebacker position forward this season out in Hollywood.
