The Colorado Buffaloes will be all over the news again this season.

Of course, that’s only the case because Deion Sanders is there.

Sanders shocked the world last season by taking the reins of a not-so-popular college program, trying to work his magic like he did at Jackson State.

Notably, the Buffaloes got off to a strong start, with Sanders calling out the critics and those who claimed he wouldn’t find success there.

Then, he got a little too quiet when his team collapsed shortly after.

With that in mind, the Dallas Cowboys legend is trying to make sure that’s not the case again.

Talking to Robert Griffin III for his Outta Pocket podcast, Sanders claimed that his team would put an emphasis on the running game, both when it comes to establishing it on offense and preventing other teams from running on them.

“We going to run the football and we going to stop the run”

That’s a bit of a surprising statement, considering the fact that some scouts thought he’d rely heavily on his son, Shedeur Sanders, who’s projected to be the first quarterback taken in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft.

Then again, that should also open up plenty of passing lanes for him.

Like his father, Shedeur is a privileged athlete who can make plays with his legs, so perhaps we could be looking at an RPO-heavy offense in Boulder this season.

The Buffaloes will have their work cut out for them next season, and it’ll be interesting to see whether Sanders will talk about football or anything else if things go sideways again.
